Hi Kellene
Does the UltraMaxgel become solid in the fridge? (like cornstarch?) Thanks for the recipe. It sounds great!!

Noelle, to be frank, I have no idea. But I'll check for you.

What if we do not have UltraMaxgel available in our area? What is it?

Go ahead and just get any other brand of clear gelatin (such as Knox). However, make sure that it's good for both cold and hot uses in order to get the best bang for your buck.

Where is the best place to get the ultramaxgel?

if you are in the Utah area, I'd get it at Macey's. If you are not, I'd order it from Augasonfarms.com It's nice and light so it won't cost you a fortune. You can also simply purchase the clear Knox gelatin. That's more expensive than the Ultra Maxigel, but widely available.

I get mine at Walmart now! They started carrying it several months ago. It's in a big bag for about $6 or so. I've seen it down the baking aisle, & down the grains & beans aisle... by the all natural, organic stuff... like Bob's Red Mill foods. It's AWESOME!!! I make fresh fruit syrup in like 5 minutes! You can use fresh, frozen, or freeze dried.
