What? You’re back again? Didn’t you get enough Preparedness Pro last year? No? Well, we’ll see what we can do about that this year. I mean after all of the reading you did last year, and the classes you attended, I expected you to be off and starting your own educational events and teaching others what you’ve learned. *grin* Well, there’s still nothing stopping you, but I still intend to be here and do whatever I can to help you help yourselves and those you care about to embrace a self-reliant life.
What this means to me is that I’d rather err on the side of a little toe-stepping rather than feel guilty because I didn’t educate my readers on a particular topic that I know is important. Yes, I realize that there are some who bristle when I say things like “store one year’s worth of water for your family, and learn how to perform basic care for knife or bullet wounds” and let’s not forget the most controversial one of all—bottling butter! But the fact of the matter is, I’m seeing some serious issues coming down the pike and as such I KNOW that a mamby-pamby approach to preparedness will not suffice. To put it another way, I see the Titanic getting ready to hit its glacial foe and rearranging the chairs on the deck aren’t going to do any good except distract one from what’s really going on. So, while my intent is to actually help others and not ruffle feathers, I think that a little bit of “tough love” needs to be a part of the mix this year.
So, what’s our high gear topic for this post? Well, I want to make sure that you all have the opportunity to take part in the Self-Reliance Revolution events. For those who still haven’t made it on one of the Self-Reliance Revolution webinars, let me just share a tidbit. Every other Wednesday I will be conducting a 60-90 minute education event as it relates to medical preparedness. I’ve selected this particular topic as being worthy of all of our attention because I believe firmly that we are about to see some very stressful times in the health care industry as we now know it.
Last night on 60 Minutes—yes I do watch that sometimes but turn it off before good old Andy has the time to put in his two cents—anyway, the topic of one of last night’s segment was about how one of the largest pharmaceutical companies just settled a lawsuit and paid $750 million—TO SETTLE the case folks. Which means that they felt that if it had gone to trial, they would have been hit with a much larger sum! So, what was the crime of GlaxoSmithKline? Oh, just a few mix-ups—you know, every day simple stuff like putting anti-depressant medications in bottles marked as diabetic medication and putting the 25 mg. anti-depressant medication in the bottles that were supposed to hold 10 mg. of medication, making some of their medications more powerful than they ought, and some less impactful as well. Oh yeah, and then there was the tiny matter of contaminating hundreds of millions of dollars of pharmaceuticals with several kinds of harmful bacteria due to production flaws and the water source used. The icing on the cake is that the company had the benefit of a smart, qualified supervisor in their company that was able to share the matter of the serious errors with her superiors. But just like a John Grisham novel, the higher-ups covered the matter up, made no changes whatsoever—other than to fire the whistle blower—and even went so far as to send a fraudulent letter to the FDA calling the incident mere rumor and that such scenarios were “highly unlikely” to have occurred.
Here’s the most disturbing thing to me about this whole instance; the pharmaceutical industry is supposed to be SELF-MONITORING. So wouldn’t you guess if a company was manufacturing a critical heart medicine they might want to be sure that they get it right. After all, in a scenario as serious as this, there aren’t any “do-overs.” You either get it right or someone is going to die.
Folks, this is just ONE marble in the jar of what’s dangerous about our current health care system today. We don’t believe in health care in our nation; instead we practice death care and we charge more for it than any other country in the world. So, we’ve GOT to take as much responsibility as we possibly can for our HEALTH and our knowledge of how to take better care of ourselves. You know, if this wasjust a matter of learning how to groom our own pets once a month, I wouldn’t suggest that we need to focus on two training classes a month to master it. But this is literally a matter of life or death—clearly as you know, that’s not an exaggeration.
Anyway, to recap, beginning on January 12th, and every other Wednesday thereafter, I’ll be presenting a live teleconference for all of our readers in which I will share, along with several experts, all of the various ways that we can take more control over our health and how we deal with illnesses regardless of how serious the scenario seems to be. I do so not only because we are truly very vulnerable physically and emotionally when it comes to receiving the right care, but also financially. I have a friend, for example, that’s living with her children because she’s living on a fixed income of only $1,100 a month but her prescriptions cost her $800 a month! That’s not living a real life in my book. That’s just plain unacceptable to me in terms of a quality of life. (Imagine how much better she felt when I was able to share with her how she could get those pharmaceuticals for the whole year with less than $300 out of her pocket! But that’s a topic for another time.) Unfortunately, there are many stories just like my friend’s and they vary from one extreme circumstance to the other. I offer this bi-weekly education in hopes that we can all feel like we’re taking back our lives, bit by bit, instead of surrendering them due to the frightening alternatives we believe we are faced with.
So what am I going to be doing on those weeks when we’re not learning about medical preparedness? I’ll be teaching, along with some wonderfully expert friends of mine, on a completely different subject and that is on Entrepreneurial Success. That’s my forte’ folks. In the past decade I’ve been contracted with international banks, countrywide grocery stores, and several hospitality business owners. But whether it’s a big business or a small one, the fundamentals of promoting and running a business are all the same. I’ll be covering these topics with a sense of urgency. With my financial background I’ve been watching some of the events very closely—and have been sufficiently concerned—specifically over the last two months. While I’m not panicked or scared by any means, I am sorely concerned about others who are about to get blindsided because of a lack of preparedness. To put it plainly, I do not see anything good coming towards us in terms of the nationwide economy OR international economy. We are in some serious trouble folks and as such, I firmly believe that we need to take some serious action now, while we have the luxury of doing so, to accelerate our state of readiness for what life throws at us.
The reality is that much of what we need to do to be more self-reliant requires money and some financial savvy. So, to me this all boils down to the need for us to get serious about strengthening our state of preparedness and that means we don’t really have a lot of time to run our businesses just to “survive.” It’s as if a big tsunami is coming. Running may give you some sense of accomplishment for a few moments, but ultimately you need a much more effective form of escape than that. “That” is exactly what I will be addressing on these Entrepreneurial Success calls. With the correct marketing principles applied, combined with some rogue marketing tactics, every single person out there can make a significant financial impact in their lives this year. While the economy is indeed getting beat up, there are still some very healthy segments of our nation that are thriving. On these calls you will learn specifically how to tap into those healthy cash flows and make them a part of your business success. All of this translates into having all of our tangible needs available to us in 2011 and eliminating all of our debt and still having some security left over for a rainy day. Why do I think that Ican help folks accomplish in only 12 months what most businesses can’t do in 5 years? Well, actually I can’t unless you participate in the bi-weekly calls. All motivation is self-motivation. So these aren’t going to be fluffy, useless “fix your mind” kind of calls. You provide the focus and I’ll provide the tactics that will make a serious difference in your entrepreneurial pursuits.
If you don’t have a self-employment status yet and feel stuck at figuring out what to do, I can certainly help you in that regard as well. I’ve tested, kicked, and tweaked several options over the last 9 months—since I first came up with this idea—and I’ve established a great deal of specific criteria that every entrepreneur needs to align with their businesses in order to make some serious headway in their state of self-reliance.
Just to be clear, I’ll take whatever existing business you have and will help you tweak it so that it provides a more reliable income for you AND/OR I’ll help you develop a self-employment status that you can pursue in addition to your regular employment which will meet all of my strict criteria—strict because I personally don’t believe we have a lot more time to mess around—financially speaking. Some areas of the U.S. are much worse economically than the national scene. In fact, if you’re living anywhere in California right now, I believe that you’ve got a deck completely stacked against you, and as such I would personally leave that state ASAP. Yup. You read that correctly. That wasn’t a typo. Our nation is in big trouble economically right now, but California combined with its derelict law enforcement, blatant disregard for their own laws and the U.S. Constitution, and the stripping citizens of their rights and freedoms, I’m about as likely to live, visit, or do business in California as I am likely to move to Iraq without a burka.
Ok. Coming back down to earth here for a moment, allow me to recap…
Beginning January 12, every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. I will be hosting an educational tele-conference. All you’ll have to do is call in to a specific number (that will be posted on our website) and then listen in to myself or my guests. We don’t have a limit of seats on these calls since they are teleconference instead of webinars. But here’s more good news…Since we want everyone to have access to this call, if Wednesday night isn’t good for you, you'll be happy to know that we will be recording these calls and leaving them on the site for 7 days. This way you can listen to it when your schedule permits. However, the down side is if you aren’t able to listen to the original call you won’t be able to ask questions live during the call. Of course these calls are being provided to you free of charge—part of the whole putting my money where my mouth is concept—and considering that my marketing and financing clients pay anywhere from $75 to $275 an hour, hopefully you’ll see the value provided to you.
