I wrote an article several years ago about how I believe that in a financial collapse, desperate people would be persuaded by financial gain to essentially report on their neighbors for whatever the hot button cause of the day was at that time. I distinctly remember writing this article because there were so many comments from people believing that such a thing would never happen...clearly forgetting that even Jews reported on their fellow Jews during the holocaust.  Some even believed that I...

If I could make you all cookies and deliver them to your door with a smile and a "Merry Christmas", I would. But this will have to be the next best thing I could do for you.   This is a newly developed tradition. Neighbors who barely knew my name know it well after delivering these delights to their door... In fact, I had one person tell me that they didn't like raisins but they loved these cookies! Clearly, it's a unique tasting cookie, sure to be memorable to the recipients.   Enjoy!  ...
Ten Principles of Preparedness by Preparedness Pro

Welcome to Coronavirus Crazy Day 1.    Last night a close friend asked me why I'm not freaking out. She knows that I'm prepared temporally speaking. But she was referring more to the emotional, spiritual aspects of things. I answered her that night but afterwards I thought that I might share my answer to her with the rest of you.  Hopefully, it won't be a big surprise to any of you what my answer was to her, as I'm certain that I've stayed consistent to my faith, beliefs, and my foundation...

Today I've got some great information to share with you regarding first aid training as a first responder--after all, we're ALL first responders--and situational awareness.  For those of you who aren't aware, typically the term "first responders" is referring to the rescue teams, EMTs or the firefighters or even law enforcement who arrive on the scene in which help is needed. Most often the term refers to those administering medical needs. The term "situational awareness" refers to a person's...

I'm always getting asked "when will you make more preparedness videos?". Well today I was working on that and I found that there were some videos that I made but that I never published for some dumb reason! Doh!! (Although it's certainly not the most earth shattering worthy video I ever posted. Perhaps that's why it was missed by me...or it could be that I made it right before I moved into the RV. Oh well. Here it is nonetheless.) In this video I just share a simple little tip that I use to...
Zaycon Fresh's Patio Steaks--Fail

It’s Zaycon Fresh time for me again. I’ve got FRESH, hormone and anti-biotic meat coming to me over the next 3 months.  I’ve canned plenty of their chicken breasts, bacon, sausage and ground beef, so nowadays I like to put some up in my freezer—especially the ground beef.  However, I was getting pretty darn frustrated by all of the wasted space I was creating the way that I used to do it, so I figured out a better way to break down those 40 pound boxes of ground beef that come in these large...
No fail pie crust

A great pie crust recipe is a must. But I've been on a quest to find a good recipe that I can make without my food processor in the event I ever need to.  So, I've finally found one that I've made enough times to KNOW that I love it. So I thought I'd share it with you all.  By the way, I've made two pies this past week in my solar oven even though it's been cold. As long as I have good sunlight for a couple of hours, the solar oven still does a beautiful job!!  Enjoy!!! No Fail Pie Crust--No...

I hate to break it to you, but it’s very likely that you’ve rendered your food storage completely useless by ignoring this one, critical consideration. So take a deep breath…be ready to learn… and then repent. *grin*   If you know nothing else about me, know this: I believe wholeheartedly in approaching preparedness with an “everyday focus”.  I believe firmly that if you prepare for the everyday types of scenarios, then you’ll be prepared for the more extreme crises scenarios that may come up...

What better way to come back from a prolonged sabbatical than with a review of a really cool product AND giving away 4 of these awesome RZ Masks to 4 of our lucky readers?!?!  OK. So I’ve totally ruined any chance for suspense here as I’ve already used the words “cool” and “awesome”. So I think you can figure out where this RZ Mask review is going, but seriously, I was totally BLOWN AWAY with how awesome this product is.  They not only made it superior to other masks in terms of science and...
