The launch of our new series, “100 Days of Prepping” is finally here!! What is it, you ask? Well sit down a moment and I’ll share all of the exciting details with you!!
Last year at this time, I came up with a whole bunch of challenges for our readers. But this year I felt that we needed something more inclusive and available for everyone regardless of their living circumstances and budgets. So instead, I came up with the “100 Days of Prepping” series.
For the next 100 days straight, Preparedness Pro will be providing you with in-depth information presented in a mixed myriad of
formats such as original written content, pod-casts, live webinars, and video tutorials every day! Beginning Jan. 5th, 2013 and continuing on until April 14th, 2013, you will find a no-holds-barred array of extensive information on our website created with one primary purpose in mind—to help anyone and everyone in their pursuit of a comfortable, safe, and ultimately peaceful lifestyle of readiness and self-sufficiency. You won’t have to guess where anything is though. It will all be posted clearly on here.
We’ve got quite the line-up planned for all of you in this 100 days INCLUDING the official launch of my first cookbook AND a very special writing project that we’ve kept under wraps for nearly a year. Yup, not one but TWO books will be launched during that period as well and they promise to be unlike anything you’ve previously seen in the preparedness community. Surely you’ve come across that nonsense advertisement for “37 Things to Hoard”…or some such number…only to discover that it’s a fast-talking dingbat who’s sole purpose is to sell you a list of 37 survivalist items. What you might not know is that using the numbers 3, 7, and 4 in a combination are nothing more than a smart marketing strategy as such numbers are known to garner more attention. It’s not like this person (or the copycat persons like him/her) found X number of items that were important and felt the whole world needed this bit of enlightenment, rather they needed to make
some fast cash and so they came up with a list of the lowest number they could come up with while still using the strategic number combination so that they could do the least amount of work. Anyway, blah, blah, blah. The reason why I’m telling you this is because for the past year I’ve been working on “The Ultimate Lists”–a collection of lists of everything that you could possibly need to be prepared for a future crisis event AS WELL AS every possible consideration for a self-sufficient lifestyle prior to being confronted with such a crisis. Whether it’s your pantry, trunk of your car, home medical first aid kit, or “most barterable items” in an economically collapsed society–I’ve got the list all written out for you. I’m almost more excited about that book than I am in finally sharing some of my long-time family secret recipes–almost. *grin*
If you’re one of our thousands of Facebook readers, then perhaps you are already aware that I was approached at the first of 2012 to create my very own television show. There have been several ideas kicked around, some going further than others and a couple of which were even flattering, but after a serious amount of thought and prayer and discussion with Prince Charming over the past 2 months I have opted to say “no” to ALL of them. I confess that as I’ve watched the 2nd season of “Doomsday Preppers”, I’ve been mostly embarrassed for those who have lent their names to the show. It’s evident to me that the production company and network involved with this show are attempting to “kill a frog” so to speak, by gradually increasing the heat to the point that all that we’re left with is a combination of Jerry Springer, Honey Boo-Boo, and Revolution—none of which is flattering. Even more regrettably though, I see a huge opportunity lost. I’m not interested in putting my name and reputation aligned with anything that fails to step up to a golden opportunity of educating, encouraging, and genuinely helping people all over the world that television offers. Of course entertainment needs to be a part of any such production, but I’m frankly dog-gone tired of production companies and networks dumbing down what passes for entertainment nowadays. I’m tired of seeing only what’s WRONG with the world on television. But I do respect visual entertainment, as portrayed on television, to be an effective medium to entertain as well as educate and encourage. And so I’ve elected to produce and direct my own endeavor of visual entertainment that doesn’t’ compromise my standards and in which others would love to sponsor and have their name associated with it; a production that will actually contribute to the development of a peacefully prepared, self-sufficient lifestyle. In other words, I’m going to produce the show that “Doomsday Preppers” SHOULD have been—going into homes and families and helping them to identify and correct the dangerous exposures and vulnerabilities of their present lifestyle.
This may sound odd at first, but something you may not know about me is that I live by the motto “If you can’t join ‘em, beat ‘em.”
No, that wasn’t a typo. That’s truly been my motto for the majority of my adult life. I’ve always believed that if I can’t join an established entity without compromising my standards then I’ll simply create the environment of standards that I want on my own. I’m kind of a rebel in that regard. I firmly believe–even KNOW–that NONE of us need to wait for some Great Maharaja to sit behind a desk and sanction us, our ideas or passions as being “worthy” of someone else’s time and attention. And when it comes to spreading the message of the rich blessings that come from a self-sufficient lifestyle I believe firmly that time’s a-wastin’, Friends, and things aren’t looking too great in the near future either. I simply don’t believe I have the luxury of time to wait for someone to step up and “get it”. “It’s got to get got now” while we still can make a difference. I don’t need to wait for a network to come up with a grand idea so long as there is YouTube or the like. So YouTube it shall be for now.
This leads me to another important aspect about a lot of the content that will be shared in this series. “100 Days of Prepping” isn’t just about being ready for a crisis of debilitating magnitude that’s anticipated some time off into the future; rather I will be spending a great deal of time dealing with critical issues that are already present in our households and camping out on our doorsteps TODAY. Truth be told, the whole “Emergency preparedness” mantra isn’t really a part of my world. I figure if a person is prepared for it, it’s not an emergency. But, a self-sufficient lifestyle…I’m ALL over THAT approach to living a very fulfilling life and that’s what you’ll see primarily in these next 100 days of writing, talking, dancing (the Happy Dance, of course), creating and demonstrating.
Of course this also means that there will be many more demonstrations featured on YouTube, particularly ones from my kitchen. I know from the hundreds of e-mails I get each day that this is one area for which a lot of our readers is clamoring. Your wish is my command. *grin*
Oh, did I mention that we’ll have a few periodic giveaways too? I LOVE giving away free stuff! Don’t you??? Except this way the giveaways will be offered to ALL of our readers, not just those on Facebook and Twitter.
We’ll soon be announcing the live education webinars about a week before they are to take place. We’re also only about 1 week away from launching our own forum so that we can offer a place in which persons can post appropriately without Facebook always looking
over their shoulder and violating their privacy. We’ll also be using the forum in lieu of Facebook soon, so that we won’t have any reason to encourage others to expose themselves and their privacy to such an organization. (We could launch the forum today but the server that WordPress uses is slow enough as it is; so we’ve acquired our own and are in the process of getting everything switched over to it—that’s over 700 articles that have to get switched over in addition to all of the other enhancements.) In addition to that, there will be 5 new Resource Guides and video tutorials launched. Get the picture yet?? If you can keep up and are thirsty enough you can drink from a fire hose if you’d like. We decided that things were happening fast enough in the world that it was time to at least TRY to offer a counter-balance to all of that. And guess what, I haven’t even covered everything. So yes, we’re definitely going to be busy bees here at Preparedness Pro. I’m calling in every favor I possibly can from friends and loved ones who are helping us with this effort. We sure hope it will be beneficial to your life!
So that’s the work I’ve got cut out for me; what’s your job? Well, you can come and go as you like, whatever interests you, but I hope that you’ll take the opportunity to join in and be a part of this and bring your friends and family as well. You’ll find something new every single day. (Mind you, I don’t believe in working on the Sabbath and I also believe in giving my husband at least ONE day a week that he can count on me being available to him, so while I’ll be programming articles or audio or video presentations to be posted and available on Saturdays and Sundays during this “100 Days of Prepping”, I won’t be able to get to your questions or e-mails readily on those days. Just a heads up.)
Just to be clear, EVERYTHING that’s a part of the “100 Days of Prepping” will be available on this site so you don’t have to go anywhere special for it (except for the live webinars–the information for which though will be available ON THIS SITE.)
So, Ready…Set…Prep!!!

Thank you Kellene, for all that you do and for not being afraid to be yourself. You motivate me and in turn help me motivate others. I have watched you can bacon. Zaycon is currently selling sausage links. Is canning the same? Can’t wait for more ’100 Days’.
In Love and Light,
Deborah
I don’t think that I will be canning the sausage links. I will indeed be purchasing them, but doubt that I will be canning them. I know I won’t can the ham–it will get too soggy in texture and is fabulous otherwise! I MIGHT cut the sausage links in pieces and can THAT so that I could use it in the future with omelets, quiches, casseroles or soups though.
OK, I must be loosing it. Where do I find the 100 Days of Prepping?
As noted in the article, the 100 Days of Prepping is going on HERE, in the blog. All you have to do is check back here each day and you will find either the next article, or next video or next webinar etc. that’s a part of the 100 Days of Prepping.
Thanks so much Kellene, I can’t wait for the books. You have truly inspired me in many ways. God Bless you and keep up the great work, you’re a life saver.
ps, I hope your health remains good.
